Family & Dog Friendly Glamping
Kestrel Safari Lodge comfortably sleeps up to six guests. It's perfect for family glamping or couple stays and has three bedrooms - a king room, twin room and a quirky double cupboard bed (very popular with children). At the back of the safari tent is a spacious private bathroom divided into a wash room with basin and proper flushing loo, and a large shower room on the other side. You don't have to go outside to use the bathroom, it's accessed via either the king or twin room. The hot water for this tent is automatic in the bathrooms and kitchen, you don't need to light a fire for your shower!
The safari tent kitchen is well equipped with all the pans, crockery and utensils you'll need for preparing meals. There's a mini fridge/freezer, up-cycled dresser, an electric hob if you want to heat something quickly without lighting the wood stove and there's a large farmhouse table and chairs for dining. The open plan sitting room has a sofa and coffee table and there is more seating on the front deck. Cooking and heating are via the large wood burning stove in the heart of the lodge and a generous amount of firewood is provided. The tent has LED lighting and a couple of sockets suitable for charging a phone or laptop. There's no WiFi for our glamping but we have a good 4G signal on the farm if you need to stay connected. Packing lists and lists of what we provide are below.
Outside the tent is a private wood fired hot tub (optional extra), hammock, firepit area and picnic table. Kestrel in the top corner of the field with hedges around the back protecting it from the Exmoor winds, there are apple trees and flowering shrubs around it and paths mowed through the grass. The view from the front deck is towards the Quantock Hills, the children's play area is 20 seconds walk from this lodge. The private hot tub (optional extra) for this lodge is tucked around the side so a good choice for guests seeking extra privacy. The raised wooden deck is fenced and gated so perfect for families with toddlers who might wander or if you are bringing your dogs!
We allow 2 well behaved dogs to stay in Kestrel Lodge, please note your dog must be booked in on your reservation form, please don't turn up with a dog with out telling us. Our dog information including info about the dog run paddock (where dogs can run off their leads) is here.
