We have eight different accommodations on our farm - 6 safari tents, a cabin and a holiday cottage: If you're not sure which one to go for, here are a few paragraphs explaining the differences:
And here's our Farm Map so you can see the layout. It's not overcrowded here, the accommodation is spread out, but also works well for groups.
The Deckhouse Cabin is in a separate location to the rest of our glamping, but only a minute or two to walk over to the safari tents, shop and children's play areas. It's fairly private with its own fenced enclosed garden with apple trees. It's available to book all year round and is heated with an efficient log burning stove, you won't be cold in here if you're staying in the depths of winter, it's very well insulated. The main bedroom sleeps two adults and there's a mini bunk room suitable for two children under 12 years of age. We offer 1 night stays mid week during the winter, couple discounts are available outside the school holidays too. Not dog friendly.
6 Large Safari Tents open from 1st April to 1st November:
Buzzard, Hawk and Kestrel Lodges (each sleeps 6 and all dog friendly) are in a field together, they are more or less identical inside and out in terms of decor and furniture. Each lodge has a king room, a twin room with two single beds and a double sized cabin bed. The spacious bathroom is within the lodge at the back, it's accessed via either the king or twin rooms. Kestrel is the most private as it's in the corner of the field. Hawk lodge is in the middle, and Buzzard is at the other end. As these three lodges are slightly smaller than our other three, they feel warmer in cold weather as there's less space for the stove to heat. Our farm shop is also in this field, and so is the enclosed dog paddock, where dogs can run off leads. These lodges all sleep 6 guests. Outside each lodge is a wood fired hot tub, barbecue/firepit area, hammock and picnic table. Please note the hot tub is an optional extra.
Porlock (dog friendly) and Kilve Lodges are slightly larger than the ones above. They have gorgeous views looking onto the hills of Exmoor and our alpaca live in a field close to these lodges. Kilve Lodge (not dog friendly) is the lodge in the top corner of the field, the hot tub is not overlooked so it's a good option for guests wanting extra privacy. One of our neighbours on the other side of the lane keeps all kinds of poultry so you will most likely hear the birds, especially if the fox comes past - we think this is all part of the authentic farm experience! There's a king bed in one room, two single beds in the twin room, and the cabin bed is king size. The spacious bathroom is within the lodge at the back (you don't have to go outside to use the loo!) it's accessed via either the king or twin rooms. These lodges sleep 6 guests. Outside each lodge is a wood fired hot tub, barbecue/firepit area, hammock and picnic table. Please note the hot tub is an optional extra. If you're staying in Porlock with dogs, there's a paddock where you can let your dog off its lead, 1 minute walk away near the children's climbing frames.
Bossington Lodge is our largest accommodation sleeping 6-8, it is a really huge safari tent made especially for us, the only one of its kind as the manufacturer only made one! There's a king bed in one sleeping space, two single beds in another sleeping space, the cabin bed in the middle of the lodge is king size and there's another sleeping space with two mini beds suitable for children under the age of 12 . There's a spacious bathroom accessed from the living room area with a large walk in shower, loo and basin. There's also a second loo in a separate cloakroom. This lodge also has a separate playroom with a sofa, and this lodge has two private decks. There are 2 sofas and an armchair in the living area, a spacious kitchen and extra large dining table. This lodge is not dog friendly.
The Stable Cottage is available if everything else is booked. It sleeps four, there's a king bed in one room, and a king size sofa bed in the second bedroom.
