Cooking in your Safari Tent
Each of our safari tents has a large wood burning stove in the heart of the tent for cooking on and heating the living area. The wood stoves work a bit like an Aga - the top is hot for boiling and frying, and there's a oven space below. They take about 30 minutes to heat up and the stove has a fire guard for safety. We supply a generous amount of firewood and kindling for stay. Whilst we're doing socially distanced check-ins we will send you video showing you how to use your wood fires before your stay. If you need any advice on heating or using the fire efficiently during your stay we are usually always around and happy to help.
We also provide a small electric hob to boil something quickly without lighting the fire. For outside cooking there's a firepit/tripod barbecue and charcoal is available from our shop.
If one evening you don't feel like cooking, why not order one of our lasagnes, pies or curries. We cater for both meat eaters and vegetarians and have lots of options if you'd like us provide a home cooked dish for you.
