South West Glamping for Families & Couples
With views across open farmland dotted with sheep, geese and alpaca, The Deckhouse Cabin sleeps two adults and two children under the age of 12. It's a white washed glamping cabin, cosy and warm in all weathers and open all year round. The cabin is quirky and rustic, we describe it as half self-catering cottage/ half glamping. It's on the other side of the farm from the safari tents so ideal if you are looking for a more private option as it's not overlooked. There are friendly farm animals in the fields surrounding the cabin and farm tours are available during the warmer months for anyone who is interested. There's a king bed in the main bedroom and a mini bunk room at the other end of the cabin, (please note the bunk room is small with narrow beds suitable for young children under 12 years of age, the beds are not suitable for adults).
The cabin kitchen is cheerfully decorated and well equipped with mini-oven/hob, microwave, retro style under-counter fridge-freezer and table with Ercol chairs. The open plan sitting room has a comfy sofa, wall mounted television, books & games, quirky original pictures and knick-knacks. The modern shower room runs off the open plan space and has a shower, basin and loo. The cabin is heated by an efficient wood fired stove which we will have pre lit for you if you're staying in the winter. It's well insulated and perfectly warm all year round. Plenty of firewood and kindling are provided for your stay along with matches and firelighters. If you've hired the hot tub there will be an additional supply of firewood for hot tub heating too.
The cabin has a private fenced garden with apple trees, fairy lights, a wood fired hot tub, firepit/barbecue area, picnic table and hammock. The hot tub for The Deckhouse is an optional extra, you'll find our prices and information about how the hot tub works along with the heating times etc below. Hot Tub Pre Heats are available through the autumn and winter months if you'd like it hot for your arrival so you can step right in and (occasionally in the spring and summer if we're not busy).
There is space for a moses basket or travel cot in the main bedroom (a travel cot won't fit in the bunk room as it's too narrow). Please note children over the age of 1 count towards the occupancy and the cabin sleeps a maximum of two adults and two children. (If you are bringing a non mobile baby under the age of 1 in addition to four guests please make a note on the booking page along with your baby's age so we know how many people are staying.)
We provide all the bedlinen - but we can offer a price discount if you'd like to save a few pennies and bring your own linen. For family stays the discount is £30, the beds will already have pillow and mattress protectors on, and all the blankets and throws, you just need to bring sheets, pillow cases and your duvet covers. Please contact us for a discount code if you wish to take up this offer.
The Deckhouse Cabin doesn't have WiFi, but we do have a good 4G signal around the farm especially if you are on EE as the mobile mast on nearby Exmoor. You might need to stand outside on the cabin deck to pick up a signal!
We do not allow any dogs or pets in the cabin or cabin garden, this is a pet free accommodation. If you're wanting to stay on the farm with a dog, please choose one of our dog friendly safari tents instead.
Couple discounts are available outside the school holidays, the bunk room will be closed for couple stays.
