Pubs and Cafes, Good Places to Eat in West Somerset
We have some lovely independent cafes and good pubs nearby. Here are a few of our favourites, most of these are also dog friendly. There is plenty of outdoor seating at most of these places if you're wanting to eat out during any restrictions. Get in touch with them first to make sure they're open. And if you can't find a table, we offer homemade dishes to eat back on the farm in the evening. I'm afraid there is no takeaway to our location, it's very rural here!
Cafes, Pizza, Asian, Fish & Chips:,
The White Post Cafe, Langford Budville, pretty garden, check out their Instagram for photos
Brazier in Wellington, great coffee and breakfasts
The Foxy Bean Cafe, The Great Wood, Quantocks - gorgeous cakes in a stunning location
The Lost Kitchen, Tiverton, wood fired pizzas, near Knightshayes National Trust
Porlock Weir Hotel (for wood fired pizzas and views of the harbour)
The Driftwood Cafe at Blue Anchor Beach, photo below, they're on Facebook.
Ziangs at Porlock Weir - really good Asian, outside picnic tables on the harbour or takeaway, photo below.
Periwinkle Tea Room, Allerford - picture postcard village with gorgeous views and walks, photo below.
Pubs:
The Bear Inn, Wiveliscombe - family friendly, wood fired pizzas, lots of outdoor seating in a marquee
The Farmer's Arms Combe Florey, good traditional pub with outdoor seating
The Carew Arms, Crowcombe - dog friendly traditional pub near the Quantocks with garden
The Notley Inn, Monksilver - slightly more of a restaurant, gastropub. Not so good for little children. Pretty garden. Photo below.
The Royal Oak Inn, Luxborough - small traditional pub, mostly indoor seating, not so good for small children, great for adults.
The Tarr Steps Inn, Exmoor - we haven't been ourselves, but it has good feedback, amazing location, outdoor tables
Pre Covid it wasn't necessary to book a table in advance at a lot of these places, but this year could well be different when everything opens. So it is probably wise to book a table a few days ahead before turning up to avoid disappointment, especially if you're planning eating out on a weekend.
