West Somerset Holiday Cottage for 4
Family-Friendly Self-Catering Holiday Cottage on a Working Somerset Farm
If you'd like to stay in here, please get in touch with your dates and can open the calendar for you. Sleeps four, the king room is suitable for two adults, and second bedroom sleeps children age 12 and under. If you are two families wanting to stay in the winter when the safari tents are closed, the cabin and cottage together will sleep 8.
The Stable Cottage at Middle Stone Farm is a ground floor stable conversion with a high ceiling, open plan living space and two cheerfully painted bedrooms suitable for a couple or family of four. The bedrooms and living areas are cheerful and bright with colourful throws and lots of pictures. The spacious shower room is in the centre of the cottage.
The open plan kitchen and living space has a wood burning stove, comfy sofas, cheerful rugs, mirrors and pictures set against colourful walls. It has all the mod cons - TV/DVD player, WiFi outside on the terrace (rural speed!), central heating, coffee maker, microwave, dishwasher, double oven and fridge/freezer etc. There are board games, DVDs and plenty of books to borrow during your holiday and an old piano too if you fancy a sing-song (although it is not very well tuned)!
Access to the terrace garden is from outside via a wooden gate. The cottage views are mostly towards our barns, new apple orchard and farmland scattered with a menagerie of animals.
The holiday cottage is lovely for a couple, or if you're a family it's also child, toddler and baby friendly. There are children's books and DVDS, we also provide children's crockery and cutlery and a basket of toys. There is space for a single travel cot in either bedroom. Please note children over the age of 1 count towards the occupancy and the cottage sleeps a maximum of two children.
The cottage is close to the farm house and farm barns, our dogs live close by, they are friendly and very used to our guests and small children visiting but will most likely bark when you arrive to tell us someone is here!
The Cottage is not dog friendly, if you'd like to stay on our farm with a dog please choose one of our dog friendly safari lodges (Buzzard, Hawk, Kestrel and Porlock lodges are all dog friendly). No smoking inside the cottage please.
Please note the cottage heating is only available when indoor temperatures drop below 18°C. If you’d like additional warmth during the summer months, you're very welcome to use the cottage wood-burning stove, a basket of seasoned logs is included with your stay.
There is parking close to the cottage, directions here and parking instructions will be sent to you by email a few days before you arrive. EV charging is available.
There's a list of what's included and what we suggest you pack below. There's a note about bedding and bed linen here.
Here is our Farm Map so you can see the position of the cottage in relation to our other accommodation.
