Family & Dog Friendly Glamping in Somerset
Hawk Safari Tent comfortably sleeps up to six guests. Perfect for family glamping, friends or couple stays, it has three bedrooms - a king room, twin room and a quirky double cupboard bed. At the back of the safari tent is a spacious double private bathroom divided into a wash room with basin and proper flushing loo, and a large shower room on the other side. You don't have to go outside to use the bathroom, it's ensuite accessed via either the king or twin room. The hot water for this tent is automatic, you don't need to light a stove to heat your water!
The tent kitchen is well equipped with all the pans, crockery, cutlery and glasses you'll need for cooking and dining. There's a mini fridge/freezer, up-cycled dresser, an electric hob if you want to heat something quickly without lighting the wood stove and there's a large farmhouse table with six chairs for dining. The sitting room has a sofa and coffee table and there is more seating on the front deck. Cooking and heating are via the large wood burning stove in the heart of the lodge and a generous amount of firewood is provided, there's also a small electric hob if you want to boil something quickly without lighting the fire. The tent has LED lighting and a couple of sockets suitable for charging a phone or laptop. There's no WiFi but we have a good 4G signal on the farm if you need to stay connected. Click on the packing lists below for more information on what's included.
Outside the tent is a private wood fired hot tub ( this is an optional extra), hammock, firepit area and picnic table.
Hawk is the middle of the three safari tents, it's a good choice for guests with young children as you can see the play area from your deck or hot tub, it's also close to a paddock with goats. Our shop, wood store and the car park are all nearby and we provide wheelbarrows for transporting your things. The front deck of the safari tent is fenced and gated so a good choice for guests with a dog, or families with adventurous toddlers who like to wander!
We allow 2 well behaved dogs to stay in Hawk Lodge, please note your dog must be booked in on your reservation form, please don't turn up with a dog with out telling us. Our dog information including info about the dog run paddock (for time off their leads) is here.
See below for our list of what's included and here for an explanation about our bed linen.
