Firewood for The Deckhouse Cabin
The Deckhouse interior is heated by an efficient wood burning stove which you'll need to use if you are staying in the cooler months. It will be warm when you arrive as we'll light the fire before you here so it's welcoming and cosy. The fire packs out a lot of heat so don't worry, even on a freezing cold day you'll be really warm and snug in the cabin. If you're staying in the summer you probably won't need to use the stove. We will provide plenty of wood for heating whatever time of year you stay. The hot water is instant via a boiler in the bathroom.
If you've hired the hot tub we will also provide a generous supply of logs to heat the water. We don't include a supply to burn on the fire pit, if you want to burn our wood on the barbecue as well you may need to buy some more from us. We charge £5 for a large net of kindling and £10 for a large sack of seasoned firewood.
Our logs are dry and seasoned and come from substantial woodland on nearby Exmoor.
If you're staying from November to March we highly recommend you ask us to heat your hot tub for you, especially if you're arriving after dark. In summer months the water will heat in about 3hrs but on a really cold winter's day they can sometimes take 4-6 hours to get hot depending on the weather.
