Cosy Holiday Cottage with Wood Burning Stove
The Stable Cottage has central heating and radiators in all the rooms and there's also an efficient wood burning stove in the sitting room for ambiance and extra heat during winter stays. We provide a crate of seasoned firewood and kinding at the start of your stay and if you need any extra logs we charge £6 for more.
The heating and hot water for the cottage are supplied by our eco bio mass boiler. You'll see us in the yard everyday filling the boiler with wood making sure the cottage is warm and you have plenty of hot water! If you're looking for a eco holiday, you've come to the right place, we also have solar panels on the barn roof providing your electricity.
If you've hired the hot tub, you'll have lots of extra firewood in the wood store on the terrace for heating your water, we give you a generous supply which should be enough for the duration of your stay. If you want any extra wood or kindling, we charge £10 for a large sack of logs and £5 for a large net of kindling.
All our firewood comes from sustainable woodlands on Exmoor. The chimneys are professionally swept annually and there are carbon monoxide and smoke alarms installed in the cottage for our guest's safety.
