With views across open farmland dotted with rare breed sheep, geese and alpacas, The Deckhouse is a converted wooden cabin perfect for couples or families. It is quirky and rustic, we describe it as half holiday cottage - half glamping. It's on the other side of the farm from the safari lodges so ideal if you are looking for a bit of privacy as no-one over looks you apart from the sheep!
The Deckhouse sleeps a couple and up to two children; there is a king bed in the main bedroom and a mini bunk room at the other end of the building. The bunk room is very small with narrow beds suitable for children, not adults. There is a modern shower room with plenty of hot water on demand and a wood burning stove in the middle of the cabin.
The kitchen is equipped with mini-oven/double hob, microwave, little retro style fridge-freezer and table with ercol chairs. The kitchen is quite bijou and mini, if you're coming for a long break we suggest instead of doing a big supermarket shop, you use our shop onsite and shop regularly as the fridge is small. The open plan sitting room has a comfy sofa, wall mounted television, books & games and colourful bits & pieces. All the bed linen, towels and firewood are provided.
The Deckhouse looks a bit like a small cricket pavilion, it's white washed with a front deck veranda with seats to enjoy the view. Outside you have your own wood fired hot tub and a store of logs nearby. There's a tripod barbecue, picnic bench and deckchairs. We have animals very close by, Gary the elderly pygmy goat will probably poke his head through the fence and bleat at you and Molly our dog may wander over if she smells something on your barbecue!
The Deckhouse is open all year round, it's well insulated and it's perfectly warm throughout the seasons, the efficient wood burning stove throws out a lot of heat! Head to our booking page for prices or get in touch if you have any questions.
