We have discounted the prices for our last available safari lodges for the weekend of 31st May. A safari lodge is now £525 for up to six people for a two night stay.
The weather forecast looks good for Saturday - lots of sun and 22 degrees! If you're thinking of staying with children we'll be doing our farm tour on Saturday morning.
The views from Fox Lodge over a sea of buttercups towards Exmoor is gorgeous at this time of year. This little video (very informal on my phone) will show you the setting and I'll take you inside the tent so you can see the layout. Fox has lots of June availability including this weekend coming.
If you enjoy wildlife and a bit of birdspotting there is so much animal activity here at the moment, both on the farm and in the hedges. We are not so impressed with Mrs Fox and her teenage cubs who killed 35 of our chickens this week, however I know she is beautiful and the guests have been enjoying watching her prowl around at dusk Here are a few of our pet geese in front of The Deckhouse, the fox doesn't bother then and they hop onto water if they see her.
On the other side of the cabin is our new pond which has a family of wild ducks and moorhens on it at the moment, the drake comes and goes, I suspect he has more wives and ducklings on our neighbours' ponds! Our three orphan lambs are now pretty huge, we're keeping them on the bottle for half term guests to help bottle feed, then we'll set them free to eat grass with the rest of the flock in early June. We hope our two female alpaca are pregnant, we'll know for sure when we shear them in July. The pigs are coming on well and we've just planted our new vegetable garden - you can see it just behind the cabin. If you'd like to come and stay and meet the animals, we have some availability still for the weekend of 31st May at the end of Half Term. We hope to see you here.
It's so lush and green here at the moment, here are our very happy geese in front of The Deckhouse Cabin. They are quite entertaining! If you'd like to stay in The Deckhouse it's a lovely option for a couple or family of four. It's in a separate location to the rest of our glamping so relatively private and peaceful depending on what is happening on the farm! It's next available for the weekend of 31st May.
I took a few new photos around Badger, Stag and Fox Lodges today, I love this sea of yellow buttercups although I'm not sure our alpaca find them very delicious. This photo is outside Stag Lodge and you can see Buzzard, Hawk and Kestrel in the distance.
If you are looking for half term glamping we have one lodge left on Monday, it's Kestrel and sleeps a family of 6. Stag lodge for 8 is next available from 3rd June for a mid week stay, the next weekend availability is the weekend of 14th June. If you'd like to see more recent photos I've posted several here on Facebook.
Kestrel Safari Tent is available next week from Monday 27th May. It's in the corner of the field and the private hot tub area is not overlooked. It's perfect for a family of up to six people and has gorgeous views over fields with lambs, alpaca and towards the rolling Somerset hills. We offer luxury glamping with private bathrooms, proper flushing loos, there's electrics in the tent so you can charge your phone and there's a fridge/freezer and hot tub available too. The price for a four night stay is £650. If you're staying with children there will be lambs to bottle feed next week, pigs to scratch and a tractor ride too! Book Now
Although we're in a gorgeous, unspoilt and untouristy area of the South West, there is plenty to do within easy reach of Middle Stone Farm. Dunster Castle is fantastic for all ages, it's 25 minutes from here and a gorgeous drive through the edge of Exmoor to get there. This photo is of Lynmouth, well worth a day trip and with incredible views towards Wales. The West Somerset Railway is fun if you're a vintage train enthusiast and there are some gorgeous beaches near us to visit too. Our closest are Kilve for fossil hunting and Blue Anchor which is sandy at low tide. Tarr Steps and Porlock Weir are also high on our 'must visit' list.
We have one safari tent left for a mid week stay from 27th May. It's Kestrel Lodge and it sleeps six. And we have several options for the last weekend of half term, the weekend of 31st May. For prices and to make a booking by credit or debit card click here.
We have glamping available over half term. The two safari tents are very family friendly with private bathrooms, hot tubs, spacious bedrooms and gorgeous views over open farmland. The Deckhouse is also available from 27th May - a lovely glamping cabin with hot tub for family of four. Middle Stone Farm is in the foothills of Exmoor National Park, a perfect base for exploring the North Devon coast and Somerset.
We have availability in a couple of safari tents this weekend (17th May), Hawk Lodge has been discounted to £450 for a three night stay for up to 6 people, this is a dog friendly glamping lodge.
This lodge in the photo above is Badger and is priced £495 for a three night stay. If you're coming with children who'd like a farm tour, we are offering tractor rides on Sunday and a farm tour including lamb feeding and an opportunity to meet the pigs and alpaca. Book Now.
As well as our farm tour, we're offering families a ride round the farm behind a 1973 vintage tractor! We have a few lodges available next weekend and also over May Half Term. Book Now
