Here are some questions we're often asked. If there is something we haven't covered please get in touch, we're happy to help:
What time can we check in?
4pm. If you are staying in a safari tent please make sure you arrive before 8pm in the summer and at least an hour before sunset in the spring and autumn (i.e. 6pm in October). It is not safe to arrive in the dark as the field is unlit. If you can't arrive before dark we suggest you come early the following morning instead. It is sometimes possible to arrive a bit earlier but please text us to check first, we will have provided a contact mobile number in our arrival email with instructions.
What time do we need to check out?
Can we bring our pets?
We allow a single dog in The Stable Cottage for an additional £25 cleaning fee. We do not allow pets in The Deckhouse or in the safari tents. If you are bringing a dog to the cottage please make sure you have read our dog rules.
Do you have any rules?
Yes! It's really important you read our Terms & Conditions before you book!
Can we get a supermarket delivery?
If you are staying in The Stable Cottage then yes, there is space for a van to park nearby and there's a large fridge-freezer in the cottage for you to store fresh food. We do not allow supermarket deliveries to the safari lodges or The Deckhouse.
How do we get there?
We will send you an email a few days before you arrive with directions and instructions where to park, please make sure you've used a current email address and mobile number on the booking form so this information reaches you, if you haven't heard from us before you arrive check your spam folder in case our email has gone there or get in touch. Middle Stone Farm is marked on Google maps.
Do you have hot tubs?
Yes our glamping does! Click here to read more.
Can we bring extra guests?
Each safari tent sleeps 6 people max, you can also squeeze in a travel cot. The Stable Cottage sleeps four (and a cot), The Deckhouse sleeps a couple and two children (we think the bunk room beds are too narrow for adults). If you have a few extra people who need to sleep here please contact us as we have a large tee-pee available for hire, this can be put up alongside a safari tent.
What is included?
Our beds are made up and ready for you when you arrive, there are spare blankets and hot water bottles too. In the kitchen you'll find tea towels, washing-up supplies, kitchen paper, salt & pepper, tea & coffee making basics and cooking oil. Bath towels, mats and a hand towel are supplied along with loo paper and liquid soap. (Please bring your own beach towels if you're heading to the coast).
We provide you with seasoned logs for the safari tents and Deckhouse stoves. Sufficient kindling and firelighters are provided for normal usage, you can purchase more kindling and firelighters from the shops should you need extra.
Our barbecues are for burning charcoal not our firewood, if you wish to burn wood outside we have a £5 hire for a fire basket including a bag of appropriate long-burning hardwood logs which won't spit.
Do you require a damages deposit?
Yes, we require a £50 refundable damages deposit for each accommodation booked. We require a £100 deposit for each unit when booked by large groups. We refund your deposit within 48 hours of your departure unless there is a problem.
What do I need to bring?
Wellies and macs in case it rains, this is the West Country after all! A good torch if you're staying in the tents (we sell them in the shop if you forget). Beach towels if you're going to the coast, slippers and warm clothes if you're glamping in cold weather and baby bedding if you're hiring our travel cot. If you're using the hot tub you might want to bring a swimsuit and perhaps flip flops for when you get out.
If you're staying in The Deckhouse or safari tents please don't arrive with a car-boot load of food as you may find storage is an issue. Our shop is open from Spring to October which is reasonably priced for food, wine and beer.
Is there electricity in the tents?
Yes, we have a low voltage socket in the tent so you can charge a mobile. There isn't power for hairdryers or tongs etc so please leave these at home.
Do you have equipment for babies and toddlers?
Yes, you can hire a travel cot and high chair from us for £5, please select it when you make your booking. We provide a cot sheet with it but please bring your own gro bag or top blankets. In each accommodation you will find a box of toys, plastic cutlery and plates and a non slip shower mat. We can also lend you a baby bath if you let us know in advance. If there's anything else child related you need please get in touch.
Do you have special offers?
Yes, click here to see our offers. It's also worth following us on Facebook and Instagram where we post our news.
Where are the nearest food shops?
We have our own little shop here. Brompton Ralph has a village shop and post office, it's a nice mile walk over there. There are more shops in Wiveliscombe including a Saturday farmer's market, Wivey Larder a good health food shop, Thorne's Butcher, an old fashioned hardware shop and the Co-Op supermarket.
Is there a baby sitting service?
Yes, we have a few nice babysitters who we can recommend, please ask us for their details if you would like to go out, the babysitters charge £8 an hour for a minimum of 3 hours.
Can we come for a hen or stag do?
We allow groups outside of the school holiday season, get in touch to discuss your requirements and please make sure you read our rules.
Where can we buy the newspaper?
We can arrange for weekend newspapers to be delivered if you let us know in advance what you want so we can order them for you.
Do you have WiFi?
There is WiFi in the Stable Cottage (not terribly fast but fine for checking your email) but not for The Deckhouse or the safari tents. We have a good 4G signal on the farm but not inside the buildings so you may need to go outside to check your messages!
Can we have visitors?
In the interest of all of our guests we limit the number of visitors to 2 per unit and details must be provided to us in advance. These guests are only permitted to visit during the day and not stay the night.
Where are our reviews?
You'll find honest, unedited reviews on TripAdvisor, previous guests have also left reviews on Google, Facebook and Cool Camping and you can see guest photos on Instagram.
